Your favourite winter playground is just one week away from opening its door to the best summer destination in the Okanagan. June 26 marks the launch of another season at Silver Star Bike Park, and new this year, Silver Star Paintball. But the fun doesn't stop there. Silver Star boasts beautiful hiking trails and has expanded its food and beverage choices for the summer. The Club Saloon is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and The Silver Grill Steak and Chop House is featuring a special menu every Friday evening for a unique, fine dining experience. 1. Summer Season Set to Sizzle
 Our tireless trail crew, led by Silver Star Bike Park director Cam Sorensen, has been working diligently to prepare for the start of the mountain bike season, despite Mother Nature's best efforts to do otherwise. Our Spring may not have been the best, but judging from the overtime the trail crew has put into getting the mountain ready, it's shaping up to be a spectacular season.

4. Under the Big White Tent
 This Saturday, look for Big White staff at the Variety Boat for Hope presented by Pharmasave at the Kelowna Yacht Club. This event recognizes that not every day is smooth sailing for parents, caregivers, and special needs people in our community, and provides a fun-filled day on the water for more than 75 children in the community.
If you plan on attending the opening of the Myra Canyon trestles on the Trans-Canada Trail on Saturday, Big White will be part of the draw prizes to be awarded. Walk or bike across the newly-constructed trestles and marvel at the fabulous views of our snow-covered sister peak 'Little White' mountain.
More exciting news, as Westside Daze is coming! The Big White staff will be out in force on the 'best side' of the lake at next weekend's event. Check out the Show 'n' Shine, the family barbecue, and the Greaser Street dance. Find out more about this four-day event at www.westsidedaze.com.

5. Big White Updates Now on the Web
 Last week's snow has melted and crews are working throughout the resort. A massive amount of concrete pouring was conducted on the Chateau Blanc site. One of two crane bases have been set up and with luck the cranes should be operating next week. Everything is on schedule at The Edge, with continued finishing work on the Phase 1 units, framing of Phase 2 is well underway, and excavation has started on Phase 3.
Concrete crews are getting set to pour the first floor for Phase 3 of the Stonegate Lodge & Spa. The much-anticipated Lifestyle Centre will include common areas, an outdoor/indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, kids play area, a lounge and internet room, gym and many other amenities.
New washrooms in the Ridge Daylodge are close to completion, and rebuilding of the daycare is set to commence next week.
